Orignial cinderella story:
'blood soaked golden slippers'
the old version of this tales was that the older sister not only didnt fit into the slipper but the mother told them to cut off toes and heels to fool the prince with a serious small foot fetish. cinderella the element of perfection fitted the shoes and so then went on to live happy ever after.
I found this originla really interesting because it really shows of the need to be perfect to live a happy ever after life. From hearing the newer cencored version all you get it the mistreatment underdog metaphor but this story really shows of a new side. In referance to the chinese feet binding that happened and how the feet were a sexual organ.
An interesting collection that i might look into designing could use the old nursey rymes and fairy tales to portray the storys. it could involve looking at other parts of the human body as sexual as a posed to the usal.
The first man 'Adam'
Not only because i share the same name but also because i went to a catholic school so have been brought up with the story of genesis imbeaded in my head. So i related to this part of the book alot, i am costantly questioning things so hearing such a opinion was music to my ears. its pretty obvious that the story is only a set of metaphors and never would have happened but still hes mention alot of quotes from Jacob Boehme:
"Adam was a man and a woman and yet none of the but a virgin fulll of chastity, modesty and purity. The image of God."
"He is a semi-divine creature, albeit fumbling a near equal to an angel whose sex is still under speculation. He walked naked upon earth and could do so with impunity"
"The heavenly part (his angeleque inner constitution) penetrated the outward and was his clothing"
These particular quotes really excited my creative side, i love androgany and to hear such a statement about a figue that is cosidered the image of masculinity really made me think. In realtion to my lastest illistration project where im depicted men in a female composition to achieve a more androganous look in my menswear designs it fits in alot and i can easily draw infulence to create a more god like muse from my collections.
